I was born in France and grew up in Mauritius.  There, I developed my love for the sea since  before I could even walk.  I used to snorkel and free dive in front of our house as a kid, and took disposable waterproof cameras with me as a teenager.  Over the years, I've grown a passion for scuba diving, and I eventually became a PADI IDC Staff Instructor.  In parallel, underwater photography became my main centre of interest.  I authored a Distinctive Specialty, entitled Underwater Digital Photographer in 2001, and went on to publish my work in numerous dive publications, including a regular column in Scuba Diver Australasia.   In 2004, I co-authored the book An Essential Guide to Digital Underwater Photography with Michael Aw, and An Advanced Guide to Digital Underwater Photography in 2007.  I currently shoot Nikon DSLR cameras in Seacam housings, with various Nikkor lenses, Ikelite and Inon strobes, plus lots of other bits and pieces too long to list here!  All the photos on this website are shot straight from digital cameras.

Following the overwhelming success of our digital photography workshops in Bali and Puerto Galera, Michael and I will be conducting a new workshop along the Great Barrier Reef on board the amazing Spirit of Freedom LOB, from 25 August to 1 September 2008.
